F5052 - F5 Data-Group Is Not an Address (ip) Type

Agent error code #F5052 indicates that the configured data-group exists, but it is not an Address (type ip) data-group. Knocknoc stores granted IPs as address records, so the target must be an address data-group.

Common causes include:

  • The data-group was created as a String or Integer type
  • The Knocknoc ACL points at the wrong data-group, one used for a different purpose

Steps to Resolve

Use an Address Data-Group

  1. In the BIG-IP Configuration utility, go to Local Traffic > iRules > Data Group List
  2. Confirm the data-group's Type is Address
  3. If it is the wrong type, create a new internal data-group of type Address, point your iRule at it, and update the Data-group name in the Knocknoc ACL configuration
