299010 - The Blocked Address List Is Too Large

Agent error code #299010 means the blocked address list the agent downloaded is larger than Knocknoc accepts. The agent stops reading at the limit rather than sending part of a list, and the addresses from the last successful fetch keep blocking.

A list can be up to 8 MB of text, which is far more than a list of addresses usually needs. A list over that is usually something other than a list of addresses, such as a web page or a file in another format, or a list carrying a lot of detail on each line.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Open the list's address in a browser and check it is one IP address or CIDR range per line
  2. If the publisher offers a version with addresses only, use that
  3. Split a very large list into several smaller lists, each with its own entry in Knocknoc
