Next step -Choose passive or active?active orchestration

YouKnocknoc can "actively" orchestrate firewalls, your firewall and access-control layers etc, actively through an agent, or "passively" orchestrate thempassively through EDLs.an Activeexternal dynamic list (EDL).

                  Passive orchestration

Passive orchestration is best, but Passive gets you going fast without any further installation. You can expand your integrations as you go.

Passive? Configure your Knoc. Your firewall can poll for "EDL" updates directly from the Server without an Agent install. It has drawbacks, but it's a quickquickest way to prove itsthe effectiveness and get going fast, service without installing anything!an agent. Your firewall or other system polls an allowlist published by the Knocknoc server.

Active?See InstallAllowlist your orchestration agent(EDLs). Then configure your integration.

**You do not need ana Knocknoc orchestration agent for "passive"a Knocs!**passive Knoc.

                  Active orchestration

Active orchestration provides the best experience when the target firewall or control layer supports it. Install the Knocknoc orchestration agent, then configure the required integration.

                  See Agent installation.
