202101 - Target Device or Group Not Found
Uploading..Agent error code #202101 indicates that the agent attempted to push a dynamic entry to FortiGates via FortiManager, but the specified device target or group could not be found. FortiManager returned a JSON-RPC status code of -2 (object not found) for the proxy request. This error applies to Passive+ (FortiManager) mode only.
Common causes include:
A serial number in the Device Targets configuration does not match any device managed by FortiManager
A device group name in the Device Targets does not exist in the configured ADOM
The configured ADOM does not contain the expected devices
A device was recently removed from FortiManager or moved to a different ADOM
A typo in the Device Targets or ADOM configuration
Steps to Resolve
Verify Device Targets
In the Knocknoc admin interface, check the Device Targets configured for the ACL
On FortiManager, navigate to Device Manager and verify that each serial number or group name listed in Device Targets exists
Serial numbers and group names must match exactly what FortiManager reports
If Device Targets is left empty, the push targets All_FortiGate in the configured ADOM — verify this group exists
Verify the ADOM Configuration
In Knocknoc, check the ADOM configured for the ACL (defaults to root if left blank)
On FortiManager, navigate to the ADOM and verify the target devices are managed within it
If devices were recently moved between ADOMs, update the Knocknoc configuration to match
Check FortiManager Device Status
On FortiManager, verify the target devices are in a connected and managed state
Devices that are offline, unregistered, or in a pending state may not be accessible via the proxy API
Navigate to Device Manager and check the connection status of each target device
